Woop There It Is

YaY! Jewelry's Necklace Featured on The Vampire Diaries

Watching vampire shows is not chore for me.  I have always love vampire shows.  When I was given the opportunity to make a necklace for the show through The Artisan Group, I jumped on the chance.  It was a long wait and I had many people watching the show along with me.

My necklace finally graced the neck of actress Claire Holt who plays Rebecah.  It was featured on Season 4 Episode 18 called American Gothic.

Did you miss this Episode here is the link to watch it.

I was super lucky that my necklace was featured in a daytime episodes as we got many good shots of it.

Claire Holt might not like some of the shots but I think she would look beautiful wearing anything really and with any facial expression.

This necklace is for purchase in Kristin Oppolds Shop on Etsy.

Linda Hanes was the winner of my contest to win this necklace.  Congrats Linda, enjoy!!!!

Spot My Necklace Contest on Vampire Diaries

Well What Episode & Who Is Going to Wear It

I Don't Know - Darn!  So Help Me Out!

I was updating some things on my blog and I just realized that I forgot to tell you that my necklace was chosen to be on the Vampire Diaries TV show on the CW.  I was being juried and not sure if I would be chosen as I think only 13 out of 80 items were picked through the Artisan Group Artists.

So I was hoping to hear who and what episode I would be on but I have not gotten that email......Might be that my old email was hacked and had to change ....what a mess!

HERE IS THE DEAL!!!!!!!!

I made 3 of these necklaces.  I am running a contest and giving away the 3rd one that I made for the show.

To date the necklace has not been on yet.  So dont worry about past episodes.

Have your camera handy and if you spot my necklace take a photo of the TV and post it to my Facebook.

I do believe you have to "LIKE" me to post a photo.

Once the necklace has been spotted I will pick the best photo and send the winner a replica of the necklace.  This is necklace number 3.  I mailed the show 2.

If you see it on their website you can post that but I will be judging by a camera shot of the TV.

Good Luck and make sure to drool over Ian Somerhalder.......I certainly DO!!!

YUMMY

YaY! Jewelry Makes Jewelry for the Vampire Diaries

I have always had a facsination with vampires. I suppose I am drawn to their scary & mysterious magnatism...just like in the shows.

My first exposure to vampires as a child was when we were living in St. Paul, Minnesota and I remember screaming for my mom in the basement as
DARK SHADOWS
came on the black and white television set and I was to scared to get up and turn it off.
Since then Vampires have gotten alot sexier!
 Hello.......Ian Somerhalder!
 He can come over anyday!
I have read all the vampire books and watched all the movies possible...but I would never of dreamed that I would be making some jewelry for the stylist of the
Vampire Diaries TV Series.
I belong to a online juried group that I applied to called The Artisan Group.  When I heard that we had the opportunity to make jewelry for their stylist I jumped on the opportunity.
I am still in the jurying process here...this is no gaurantee.  So I am sending the stylist 1 necklace and the hope is this....I will get a call back for more ...... my jewelry will be in the TV show which would totally rock and maybe they will like my work so much they will order more.
So I submitted my ideas to my favorite group on facebook.....
These were my designs choices.

I knew I wanted it to be simple so the actress would shine, hip with a hint of old world.
I hemmed and hawed for about a week.  Read all of my jewelry friends comments.  Initially I loved number 1 & 3 but I really wanted it to be adjustable.  So then it was 1 & 2.  I love #1 but wondered how functional it would be in an active show.

.........DRUM ROLL.......

NUMBER 2 WAS THE WINNER

What I love about my choice is this, it can be worn in 3 very different styles...it is very versatile. Can be worn right up to the neckline, lower as a dangle or as a pendant.
 It was a great choice!

I thank all my jewelry peeps on the Creative Bead Chat for your support when I scratched all my moon pieces and had to order more. My friends were there with advice and suggestions.

There is a first time for everything....I am not a metal worker so your help and advice was invaluable to me!!!!!!!

CROSSING MY FINGERS!!!!!

What Do You Make For A Beautiful Actress!

About a year ago I applied to a group called the Artisan Group.  It is a juried group of many artists that gift their creations to actresses & actors individually and at different award ceremonies like the Golden Globes or CMA Awards plus many others.  It was exciting to be accepted into their talented pool of artists.

I really didn't pursue any of the gifting until recently.  I was fortunate to get in on gifting
Denise Richards and her children.  So I looked at pictures and thought wow!

1- She is beautiful.
2- She is very minimalistic in her jewelry.
3- She doesn't need jewelry it would detract from her earthy effortless look.

So I searched the internet and read what I could about her.  I did find her in some jewelry.  One picture of her had a very long necklace that hung down to her navel and looked fabulous on her.  She had a bit of a rocker vibe in that picture. So I thought I could do something edgy.  I also found a picture of her wearing a menagerie chain necklace, which gave me a little more hope.  Maybe ...... I can actually design a necklace for her or send her one of my signiture styles.

So I started to design her a faux pearl (she is vegan) Tie Chi necklace....it is a design idea that I have been playing with and I thought with her simplistic style she could wear it with many things and pearls would look lovely on her.  The design was based on this original look.

This was a fairly new look that I have been playing with and not really tested yet so I doubted my decision. Plus I thought the whole pearl thing felt a bit boring.  I went back to some of my original work and put together some choices and decided to elicit the help of my new friends at the CBC / Creative Bead Chat and I also posted it to The Artisan Group.

The consensus was the top right at the CBC and the bottom right at The Artisan Group.  I decided to go with my beady friends.  Many of these artists are published and have writen books and I can only emmulate and hope for a mustard seed of their talent someday!

So Denise Richards is getting the upper right necklace with the help of my creative friends.

 I hope she likes it!

This is my first design getting sent to an actress.  I am not gauranteed a photo of her wearing it or even a note, but if you do see her wearing it

... PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!!!!

I will definetly be scouring the interenet for that elusive photo of her wearing it if she does.
